AR Eco Awareness at SEA Lab

Augmented reality (AR) is great fun. It also has the potential to aid learning – and when it comes to learning, fun is also good.

AR specialist Total Immersion has teamed up with SEA Lab in Redondo Beach, LA to produce an augmented reality eco-awareness kiosk to teach kids about the effects of pollution on wildlife. Holding up one of three special marker cards will trigger a 3D AR display and embedded video. The three scenes cover bald eagles, murrelets (sea birds) and the white croaker fish.

The AR eco kiosk was developed in conjunction with the Montrose Settlements Restoration Program and Pavement LA. You can see it in operation by watching the video below:
