Dude, Where’s My Augmented Car?

Have you ever parked your car then forgotten exactly where you left it? Probably. Well, Intridea have released an iPhone App to help locate the missing motor.

Car Finder is one of several car locators available for the iPhone. As with similar apps you set a marker when you park then later the iPhone leads you back to your parking spot.

What makes Intridea’s Car Finder different is the use of augmented reality (ar). Instead of just showing a map and giving directions back to your car, Car Finder overlays the picture from the iPhone’s camera with a vehicle icon. This makes it easier to visualise the exact parking location.

Car Finder requires the iPhone 3GS and is available to buy from the app store.
