GI Joe Augmented Reality Combat

The Blu Ray and 2 DVD Special Edition versions of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra are due to be released in the US today, 3rd November. For augmented reality fans the Special Edition packaging will include a marker that can trigger an AR combat game.

The “G.I. Joe Combat Experience” will be a fighting game where Joe and characters from the movie face off in hand-to-hand combat. You’ll be able to use your keyboard to play as either Snake Eyes or Storm Shadow.

Unlike many such movie tie-ins it appears that the AR game will only be available using the special packaging rather than there being an option to print out the marker yourself. Which makes this an interesting variation on using disc extras to add value for the buyer.
