The movie Coraline, based on a Neil Gaiman novella, was released earlier this year and received an enthusiastic response from audiences. Especially those who were lucky enough to see the 3D version.
The movie has now been released in the US on both DVD and Blu-ray, as well as a special “combo pack” including both formats. To mark the release Universal have also produced an augmented reality (ar) site: Coraline’s 3-D Garden.
Users can print out a special marker sheet that they hold in front of their webcam. The computer then generates the 3-D garden which can be viewed from different angles by rotating the sheet. There are also special “secret features” can then be revealed by clicking on the sign and flowers and blowing into the microphone.
The site requires Windows and IE to work.
