Ghostwire ARG Coming to Nintendo DSi

ghostwire-dsiAugmented reality ghost hunting game Ghostwire is set to materialise on the new Nintendo DSi console.

Ghostwire is developed by Swiss companyA Different Game who describe it as “a casual collection and adventure game, where you use your handheld device to communicate with ghosts”. The game is available for various smartphones and last year won first prize in Nokia’s N-Gage Mobile Games Innovation Challeng. Now it’s to be ported to the Nintendo DSi.

In Ghostwire the image of the real world is overlayed by virtual “ghosts”. Once you find the spirits you can document them and help them to finally rest in peace. Cue jokes about “the ghost in the machine”.

Anders Bergman, lead game designer of Ghostwire, says:

The Nintendo DSi platform is perfect for this game. This allows us to enhance the integrated real-world experience with the combination of camera, microphone and touch screen.

A Different Game hasn’t yet given a date when you’ll be able to buy Ghostwire for the DSi.
