Ghostwire Game Video
Posted July 2nd, 2009 | in Augmented Reality, Games, Lead Story | No Comments »Swiss development company A Different Game has released a teaser video for Ghostwire which you can watch above.
Ghostwire is an augmented reality (AR) ghost hunting game in development for the Nintendo DSi. It’s described as “a casual collection and adventure game, where you use your handheld device to communicate with ghosts”.
The clip is short but shows a lot of interesting stuff. Firstly there’s the use of not just normal vision but also simulated thermal and UV imaging. We also get a view of one of the ghosts in the game, the spirit of a nine year of child called Sarah Rose, plus a sample of the interaction. Perhaps most interesting of all is the use of a “rear view” camera. As the trailer says: “They’re all around you”.
Ghostwire looks superb and might even be enough to persuade me to buy a DSi!
